Reds Infielder Jack Hannahan with Dragons on Rehab

DAYTON, OHIO-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster transaction today:

Infielder Jack Hannahan added to roster on Major League injury rehabilitation assignment. Hannahan does not count towards the Dragons 25-man roster limit.

Hannahan is in the Dragons lineup tonight vs. South Bend, batting third as the designated hitter. He will wear #12. The Dragons host the South Bend Silver Hawks tonight at Fifth Third Field at 7:00 p.m. The series continues with games on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Dragons roster remains at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.

Hannahan has not played in an official game in 2014 while recovering from off-season shoulder surgery. He has spent all or parts of seven years in the Major Leagues with the Reds, Indians, Mariners, Athletics, and Tigers. He has appeared in 588 Major League games from 2006-'13.

Hannahan appeared in 83 games with the Reds in 2013, tying for the club lead in pinch hits.

Hannahan is a native of St. Paul, Minnesota and played at the University of Minnesota, where he was the 2000 Big Ten Player of the Year.

Hannahan becomes the 28th Reds player to play for the Dragons on a rehab assignment. Here is the all-time list:
