Lugnuts Activate Cordero; Prospect Osuna Begins Rehab

LANSING, Mich. - In conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, the Lansing Lugnuts have activated pitcher Jimmy Cordero from the 7-day Disabled List (retroactive to Monday) and transferred pitcher Roberto Osuna to the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays on injury rehab assignment.

Cordero, 22, began the season as the Lugnuts' closer, posting a 1-1 record with a 2.45 ERA in seven relief outings, walking four and striking out seven. He had been on the Disabled List since April 23rd.

Osuna, 19, underwent Tommy John reconstructive surgery in the summer of 2013 after starring in the Lugnuts' starting rotation. He opened 2014 ranked the #7 prospect in the Blue Jays' organization by Baseball America.
