RedHawks Sign Krause & Light, Place Jennings on DL

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have signed a pair of players, inking Moorhead native INF Jake Krause and LHP Kevin Light, the club announced. Both Krause and Light will be in uniform today as the RedHawks conclude a four-game series with the Kansas City T-Bones at Newman Outdoor Field. The RedHawks also placed C Todd Jennings on the 7-day disabled list due to a leg injury suffered in Saturday's game.

Krause began the 2011 season with the St. Paul Saints. He appeared in 26 games and hit .177 with four doubles, five RBI and nine runs scored. The Saints released Krause earlier this week.

In 2010, Krause hit .290 with five doubles, eight RBI and 17 runs scored in 34 games for Fargo-Moorhead. He signed with the RedHawks after completing his college career at Concordia College in Moorhead. Krause ended the 2010 season with Lake Erie of the Frontier League.

Light started the 2011 season with the Winnipeg Goldeyes, where he was 0-3 with a 6.35 ERA in 17 appearances. He struck out 16 batters in 17.0 innings pitched for Winnipeg. Light most recently appeared in two games for the Kansas City T-Bones and allowed four runs on three hits in 1.0 inning pitched.

Light pitched for Kansas City in 2010 and was 3-2 with a 4.86 ERA in 26 games (five starts). He pitched 53.2 innings and allowed 29 runs on 55 hits. Light struck out 37 batters and walked 26.

Jennings was injured and left Saturday night's 7-4 RedHawks victory. He has appeared in eight games for the RedHawks since signing on July 9 and is batting .222 with two doubles, and RBI and two runs scored. Jennings is eligible to come off the disabled list on July 24.
