Wingnuts Drop Rubber Game in Grand Prairie

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX- The Wichita Wingnuts lost 4-0 to the Grand Prairie AirHogs at QuikTrip Park on Sunday evening.
AirHogs' starter Jason Jennings threw seven shutout innings to earn the win. Jennings allowed six hits, walked two, and struck out seven.
Grand Prairie had a multi-run first for a second straight night. With first and second and one out, Cesar Nicolas doubled home two runs on a line drive to right-center field. Two batters later, Chris McMurray ripped a single down the left field line to make it 3-0.
Nicolas drove in the AirHogs' fourth run with an RBI double down the left field line in the bottom of the third.
Derek Blacksher took the loss for the Wingnuts, allowing four earned runs on six hits in six innings. Blacksher walked four and struck out three. Blacksher settled in after allowing the three runs in the first, and kept the AirHogs to one run on four hits from the second through the sixth.
Kendy Batista threw two scoreless innings in relief of Blacksher. The Wingnuts left 10 runners on base in the loss. It marked only the third time this season the Wingnuts have been shutout.
