RH Guillermo Moscoso (7-5, 5.46) vs. RH Chaz Roe (7-11, 5.69)

TONIGHT: The RedHawks seek a split in this series and trip in the finale at Colorado Springs. Tomorrow is the league's only scheduled off day between the All-Star break and the end of the season on Labor Day. OKC begins an 8-game homestand on Friday against Las Vegas. The RedHawks dropped their second straight walk-off decision 7-6 last night to dip to 1-2 in Colorado Springs and 3-4 on the trip. OKC's lead is 3 games over Albuquerque 4 over New Orleans in the American South. Guillermo Moscoso gets tonight's start against Chaz Roe.

NINTH-INNING BLUES: Colorado Springs has scored an unearned run in the ninth inning to register walk-off wins in 2 straight games. Last night, Jay Payton's RBI single scored Jonathan Herrera in a 7-6 Sky Sox win. Herrera had reached on a 2-out throwing error by Esteban German. On Monday, a single by Herrera brought home Michael McKenry, who reached on an error by right fielder Brandon Boggs. OKC is 6-6 in games with a sudden-death finish this season. This marks the second straight trip where the RedHawks have taken walk-off losses on consecutive days. On July 24, Memphis recorded a walk-off win in the first of a doubleheader, then took the nightcap in conventional fashion before winning another walk-off decision the next night.

COMEBACK FALLS SHORT: OKC erased a 6-0 deficit with 6 runs in the eighth inning last night. It marked the RedHawks' third-highest scoring inning of the season, behind a pair of 8-run innings and three 7-run frames. While it did not result in a win, the 6-run comeback was OKC's second-largest of the year. On June 3, Memphis opened a 9-0 lead in the sixth inning before the RedHawks rallied to win 10-9. The RedHawks' second-biggest comeback victory of the year was at New Orleans June 22, when a 5-0 Zephyrs lead through 3 innings turned into a 10-5 OKC win with the help of Gregorio Petit's PCL record-tying 2 grand slams.

DAVIS, BOGGS AMONG LEADERS: Chris Davis is second in the PCL in hitting (.348), behind John Lindsey of Albuquerque (.379). Davis is eighth on-base percentage (.406). Brandon Boggs is third in the league in walks with 70 and 10th in on-base at .400.

HOLDING ON: OKC is 4-6 in August, yet has added a half-game onto its division lead, from 2.5 games to 3.0, this month. The RedHawks are 12-16 since the All-Star Break, a span where their lead has shrunk 1.5 games. OKC has been in first place since April 14 and has had sole possession of first since a win on April 16.

PITCHING LEADERBOARD: The RedHawks maintain the PCL's best ERA at 3.81, the only sub-4.00 mark in the league. Iowa is second at 4.14. OKC has allowed the third-most unearned runs (see table below), while surrendering the fewest runs and earned runs in the PCL. The RedHawks have allowed the fewest home runs (75) in either affiliated Triple-A league.

KIRKMAN PITCHER OF WEEK: OKC lefty Michael Kirkman is the PCL Pitcher of the Week for the period ending Sunday. It's the second such honor for Kirkman, who also received it for the week ending June 13. In 2 starts last week, Kirkman went 2-0 with a 2.31 ERA and dropped his ERA (currently 3.00) to third in the league.
