Salt Lake Bees News Release

New Orleans jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, as the Zephyrs rolled to a 7-1 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Wednesday night. The loss prevented Salt Lake from moving into first place in the division for the first time since June 17, as the Bees remain one-half game behind Tacoma. Zephyrs' starter Alex Sanabia (1-0) shut down the Bees as he limited them to one run on five hits in eight innings. Salt Lake's only run came in the eighth inning as Terry Evans led off with a single and later scored on a two-out double by Paul McAnulty.

Eric Junge (3-1) was tagged with his first loss as a Bee, as he allowed six runs on nine hits in seven innings with five strikeouts and two walks. Jason Bulger, who is on an injury rehab assignment from the Angels, had to leave the game after walking two and hitting another. Brian Stokes, who is also with Salt Lake on rehab, tossed a scoreless ninth inning with one hit allowed and two strikeouts. McAnulty and Kevin Frandsen each had two hits to lead the Bees.
