
Bees best Zs 10-5 in Salt Lake

The Salt Lake Bees scored seven runs in the bottom of the fourth, as six Bees collected two hits apiece, defeating the New Orleans Zephyrs 10-5 from Spring Mobile Ballpark.
Terry Evans led off the bottom of the first for the Bees with a single on the first pitch and advanced to second before Kevin Frandsen flew out.
After a fly out to Cameron Maybin by Michael Ryan, Mark Trumbo laced a double to right field, plating Evans for the first run of the game.
The Zephyrs took the lead in the following frame, as Mike Lamb and Danny Richar charted back-to-back singles to start the top of the second inning.
With one out, Brad Davis reached first to load the bases on catchers interference by the Bees' Hank Conger and John Raynor followed with a two-run single.
In the bottom of the fourth, the first four batters for Salt Lake reached base as the Bees produced seven runs on seven hits and an error by NOLA, as eleven came to bat in the inning.
After Ryan and Trumbo reached to lead off the inning, Paul McAnulty launched his seventh homer of the year to deep right field.
Conger followed with a single and after Nate Sutton grounded out to third base, Nick Gorneault singled and advanced to second on a fielding error by Raynor, allowing Conger to score.
Darwin Perez kept the inning alive with a RBI single and advanced to second on the throw home by Z's center fielder Cameron Maybin.
Evans then laced a RBI double to left, scoring Perez from second. The double for Evans was his 18th of the 2010 campaign.
After Frandsen flew out to Maybin, Michael Ryan put the finishing touches on the Bees damage with a RBI double scoring Evans.
The Zephyrs climbed back to within four runs in the top of the fifth, plating two more runs, as Raynor connected on another two-run single, scoring Lamb and Richar once again.
The Bees added to their lead once again in the bottom half of the inning, as Conger drove his seventh home run of the season, a solo shot to right field, to give Salt Lake the 9-4 lead.
With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Nate Sutton singled to center field and Gorneault followed with a RBI double, his eighth double of the year.
The Z's would plate a final run in the top of the ninth, as Maybin scored on a fielding error by Sutton. Maybin reached base in the ninth with his first base hit of the ninth, extending his hit steak to ten games.
Amalio Diaz improved to 4-4 for the Bees after allowing two earned runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out eight over six innings.
For New Orleans, Tom Mastny fell to 4-3 on the year, allowing nine runs on a season-high 12 hits over five innings.
The Z's and Bees resume play Wednesday night at 8:00 pm as righty Alex Sanabia makes his second start of the year for NOLA.
