Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA -- REDBLACKS fans can get ready for special weekends during the upcoming Canadian Football League season, as the 2015 schedule features three home games on Saturdays.
It'll be a Saturday in the park on the Fourth of July for the REDBLACKS' home opener when the team hosts the B.C. Lions for a 6 p.m. kick-off at TD Place, the first of nine home games in 2015.
Season tickets for all REDBLACKS home games are available at the team website or by calling 613-232-6767.
The two other Saturday home dates are September 26 against the Toronto Argonauts and November 7 against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the final game of the regular season.
Friday Night Football returns to TD Place four times. The team will also host a Thursday night game (October 1 against the Montreal Alouettes) and a Sunday afternoon match (August 30 versus the Saskatchewan Roughriders).
"I'm excited about the release of the CFL schedule, as I'm sure all our fans are, because it means that the season can't be too far away," said Jeff Hunt, President of Sports of the Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group, operators of the REDBLACKS, Ottawa Fury FC (North American Soccer League) and Ottawa 67's (Ontario Hockey League).
"We're looking forward to another exciting year for the REDBLACKS and for our fans," added Hunt. "Our fans provided overwhelming support in our first season, filling TD Place to capacity in each of our nine home games and we want to build on that during the upcoming season."
The REDBLACKS begin the 2015 campaign in Montreal against the Alouettes at Percival Molson Stadium on Thursday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m., the first regular-season match of the CFL season.
The schedule includes a home-and-home series between the REDBLACKS and East Division-rival Tiger-Cats in the final two games of the regular season. The series begins on Sunday, November 1 at Tim Horton's Field in Hamilton before the last game of the regular-season for both clubs in Ottawa on November 7. This series could have major implications in the East Division as the schedule draws to a conclusion.
The REDBLACKS will play two pre-season games, neither at TD Place.
Ottawa visits the Ti-Cats on Monday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m. for its first pre-season match. An announcement of the second pre-season game for the REDBLACKS, scheduled for Saturday, June 13, will be made at a later date.
