Spits Back in Playoff Hunt with Win over Rangers
February 13, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Windsor Spitfires News Release
Cristiano DiGiacinto's first period goal was the winner, as the Spitfires topped the Kitchener Rangers, 4-1, at the WFCU Centre Thursday night.
The victory moves Windsor (22-28-1-1) within three points of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, with still 16 regular season games to play.
Markus Soberg (11), Logan Brown (16) and Anthony Stefano (10) all added singles. Alex Fotinos (18 saves) wasn't busy, but was sharp when called upon in the win.
The Spits are now off for two days before Josh Ho-Sang and the red-hot Niagara IceDogs arrive in Windsor for a 2:05 afternoon matinee match-up Sunday.
