MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis used an eighth inning rally to top Omaha 7-5 Wednesday night at AutoZone Park.

After Mike Moustakas' solo home run in the top of the eighth tied the game 5-5, the Redbirds responded with a pair of runs to win their second straight over the O-Royals. Jim Rapoport's infield hit put the 'Birds back in the lead scoring Ruben Gotay from third and Mark Shorey's RBI-single extended the lead to two runs. Ryan Ludwick put Memphis in front in the fifth inning with his solo home run, finishing his night after a double in the seventh inning. The rehabbing outfielder finished the night 2-for-2 with three RBI to lead the Redbirds. Moustakas, Jordan Parraz and former Arkansas Razorback Cody Clark all had two hits for Omaha.

Mike MacDougal picked up the win for Memphis despite a blown save, allowing one run in his one inning. Devon Lowry took the loss giving up a pair of runs in the eighth inning. Josh Kinney worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his seventh save of the year. Redbirds starter Evan MacLane allowed three runs on seven hits with six strikeouts in his six innings of work.

Memphis and Omaha play tomorrow night with game time slated for 7:05 p.m. P.J. Walters goes to the hill for the home team agains O-Royals right-hander Philip Humber.
