Redbirds Head to Break with Explosive Sunday Win

MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds concluded a six-game road trip against the Indianapolis Indians on Saturday night with a 13-5 win at Victory Field.

The Memphis offense took control of the game in the third and fourth innings, scoring a total of nine runs between the two frames. By the end of the top of the fifth, the Redbirds held an 11-3 lead.

Right fielder Moises Gomez led the way with a 3-for-5 day. The right-handed slugger drove in five runs, clubbed his 20th home run of the season and scored a run. Shortstop Masyn Winn drilled a home run, drove in a pair and scored three times.

In his first start since being optioned earlier in the week, Matthew Liberatore tossed 4.0 innings, allowed three runs on six hits, struck out seven and allowed a walk. Logan Gregg (1-0) earned his first Triple-A win with 2.0 innings of one-run, one-hit relief.

MLB Rehabber Tyler O'Neill reached base twice in a 1-for-4 effort, drove in two runs and scored twice.

The Redbirds (43-44) return to AutoZone Park on Friday, July 14 to continue a six-game homestand at 7:05p.m. CDT against the Nashville Sounds.
