Cocos Locos de Rochester dropped the final game of their six-game homestand against the Buffalo Bisons, 8-2. RHP Paolo Espino worked his first quality start of the season and went at least five innings on the mound for the 10th time in his last 13 starts. RF Blake Rutherford extended his on-base streak to a team-leading 16 games in the loss, while CF Erick Mejia collected a hit in his sixth-straight game.

The Bisons got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a solo home run from LF Davis Schneider. Buffalo extended its lead to 5-0 in the following inning thanks to a fielder's choice that drove in RF L.J. Talley and a three-run double from SS Otto Lopez. Rochester added their first run in the bottom of the third inning, cutting the deficit to 5-1 after CF Erick Mejia drove in SS Richie Martin on an RBI single.

Rochester would strike again in the bottom of the fifth inning, making the score 5-2 when LF Travis Blankenhorn drove in his ninth run of the series on an RBI single. The Bisons tacked on three insurance runs in the top of the eighth inning on four walks and two hits. Rochester managed one base runner across the final four innings, and were unable to plate any runners. Buffalo salvaged a series split, marking the second-straight series Rochester has split, and the first one at home.

RHP Paolo Espino (4-3, 4.33) started on the mound for Rochester, taking the loss while working six innings allowing one earned (four unearned) in his first quality start of the season. LHP Tim Cate came out of the bullpen in relief first, working a scoreless inning of work. RHP Tommy Romero and RHP Joel Peguero combined to pitch an inning, striking out two batters, while RHP Gerson Moreno logged his sixth-consecutive scoreless outing

RF Blake Rutherford earned Sunday's Diamond Pro Player of the Game honors after he went 2-for-4 with two singles, extending his team-leading on-base streak to 16 games. Rutherford was the only Rochester hitter to record a multi-hit outing, collecting his fifth in 16 games with Rochester.

Rochester finished 1-for-1 on ABS Challenges, while Buffalo went 2-for-5.

Rochester will return to action after the All-Star break, taking on Syracuse for a mini three-game series in Syracuse before returning home to face the Durham Bulls.
