(Pawtucket, RI) - Reynaldo Rodriguez's three-run eight-inning home run blasted the Rochester Red Wings to a 6-5 win over the Pawtucket Red Sox on Thursday night at McCoy Stadium. On a night that Rusney Castillo homered, Shane Victorino had two hits and Henry Owens posted his longest start of the season, the Red Wings withstood a ninth-inning rally and earned a split of the four-game series.

Rodriguez - the former PawSox infielder - slammed his seventh homer of the season off of Dalier Hinojosa to cap a two-out three run rally that swung the game.

The PawSox had surged to a three-run lead off of Ervin Santana, who made a Major-League rehab start for the Wings. Castillo belted Santana's first pitch over the right field wall to stake Pawtucket to an immediate advantage.

The PawSox (36-38) tripled their lead in the third. After Victorino ripped a double to left field, Carlos Peguero crushed one of the longer home runs of the season - a majestic blast that went all the way out of McCoy Stadium and made it 3-0.

Rochester (37-35) got two runs back in the top of the fourth. Four of the first five Red Wings singled; the last of those was Jose Martinez, who drove home a pair of runs and made it a 3-2 game.

Wilkin Ramirez led off the fifth and tied the game with a booming home run to left field.

Hinojosa looked poised to breeze through eighth. With two outs, James Beresford bounced a hit on the right side of the infield. Eric Fryer then singled to left to set the table for Rodriguez.

The PawSox mounted a ninth-inning rally but came up a run short. With one out, Sean Coyle walked before Castillo singled to move him to third. Quintin Berry drove a deep sacrifice fly to centerfield and Humberto Quintero singled to score Castillo. But Peguero was retired to seal the win.

Ryan Hanigan started the game behind the plate for Pawtucket, played five innings and was 0-for-2 with a walk.

The PawSox continue the homestand Friday night when they welcome the Gwinnett Braves to McCoy Stadium at 7:05. Right-hander Steven Wright (2-1, 3.24) will be opposed by the Braves' righty Alex White (0-0, 3.60).

Good seats are still available at the McCoy Stadium box office, by calling (401) 724-7300 or by visiting pawsox.com. Radio coverage on 920 AM (WHJJ) and also streaming online begins at 6:50 P.M.
