Bats Offense Powers over RailRiders, 15-2

MOOSIC, Pa.- A dominating Louisville Bats (36-38) offense secured the final game of the four-game series against the Scranton RailRiders (43-32), 15-2.

The Bats came in strong in the top of the third putting seven runs on the board. Yorman Rodriguez landed a three run homer in the inning making it his eighth of the year.

In the fourth, and RBI single from Jason Bourgeois plates Irving Falu adding to the Bats lead, 8-0. A two run double from Rodriguez sent the Bats ahead 10-0 in the fifth.

A late two run homer from the RailRiders Aaron Judge wasn't enough to get the win.

The Bats recorded a season high of 24 hits tying a franchise record back in 2010 against Buffalo. A 15 run game set another season high record in tonights win.

David Holmberg (W, 4-5, 4.64) grabbed the win for the Bats pitching eight innings. The righty allowed eight hits, two earned runs, three walks, three strike outs and one home run.

For Scranton, righty Jaron Long (L, 5-5, 5.11) pitched 4.1 innings allowing 14 hits, 11 earned runs, two strike outs and one home run.

The Bats begin a three-game series with Lehigh Valley at Coca-Cola park tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Righty Matt Buschmann (1-0, 2.57) takes the mound for Louisville. Starting for Lehigh Valley will be right-hander Chad Billingsley (2-2, 5.47).
