Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

Moosic, Pa. - Known as an immense presence on multiple levels already, the shadow cast by his rapid rise has grown yet again. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) outfielder Aaron Judge has been named to the U.S. roster for the 2015 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game. The prospect-filled contest will take place on All-Star Sunday, July 12, at Cincinnati's Great American Ballpark.

Judge joined the RailRiders on June 22 after dominating the Double-A Eastern League. Ranked the Yankees' No. 2 overall prospect and top position player on the farm by Baseball America, Judge hit .284/.350/.516/.866 in 63 games with the Trenton Thunder. He posted 16 doubles, three triples and 12 home runs along with 44 RBIs. At 6'7" and 255 pounds, the 2013 first-round pick (32nd overall) out of Fresno State got his first Triple-A hit in his SWB debut on Monday and has delivered an RBI in each game since.

The Yankees will also have Judge's former Double-A teammate, Gary Sanchez, in the contest. The catcher, ranked the Yankees' fifth-best prospect by Baseball America before the season, has hit .256/.313/.432/.744 in 45 games with the Thunder this season. He has delivered eight home runs and 28 RBIs and entered today ranked third in the Eastern League with a .377 caught-stealing percentage.

The 17th-annual SiriusXM All-Star Futures game is set to start at 3 p.m. and will air live on MLB Network and MLB.com. SiriusXM Radio will also have play-by-play coverage of the event live on MLB Network Radio (XM channel 89; Sirius channel 209). Major League Baseball -- in conjunction with the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau, MLB.com, Baseball America and the 30 Major League clubs -- selected the 25-man rosters for both clubs. Each Major League organization is represented and players from all full-season minor leagues were eligible to participate.

Two Reds greats will be managing the squads. Hall of Famer Tony Perez will be in the World dugout, while Ken Griffey Sr. will be the man on the U.S. side.

The RailRiders are home through Sunday with a bevy of promotions throughout the homestand. The highlight giveway comes on Saturday, June 27 when the first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a Rob Refsnyder bobblehead, presented by Keystone Sanitary Landfill.
