Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will go for the sweep of the Buffalo Bisons on Thursday afternoon at Coca-Cola Field. First pitch of the series finale is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.

LHP Anthony Vasquez (3-2, 3.16) takes the hill for the Pigs on Thursday. The former USC Trojan was dealt the loss on Saturday vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as he allowed five runs on eight hits while walking three and fanning three over 6.2 IP. In 7 GS this season, opponents have hit just .220 against Vasquez.

RHP Chad Jenkins (5-2, 2.58) gets the ball for Buffalo in the finale. Jenkins' last outing came in relief on Saturday at Syracuse when he tossed a scoreless inning and got the win. The right-hander's last start was back on June 9 vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre when he got a no-decision after giving up one run on six hits while fanning one over four innings of work. Over his last 10 G (1 GS), Jenkins is 3-0 with a 0.50 ERA and has allowed just one earned run in 18.0 IP during that time.

After going 1-3 with an RBI on Wednesday, Pigs OF Aaron Altherr has now hit safely in his last 11 G combined between Reading (AA) and Lehigh Valley. In that time, Altherr is hitting .395 (17-43)-0-3 with six doubles in that span.
