Maine Celtics News Release

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws (14-25) faced off against the league's best, the Iowa Energy (31-10), tonight at the Portland Expo Building. The East's top dog, Iowa outmanned the Red Claws throughout the game, taking home the 99-90 win.

Marqus Blakely led the Energy in scoring with 20 points while Courtney Sims provided a quiet double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Six of eight players scored in double figures for Iowa. Iowa guard Curtis Stinson continued to close in on the all-time assists mark in the NBA D-League. Stinson, who entered the night needing nine assists to overtake Will Conroy's (Rio Grande Valley, Tulsa, Albuquerque 2005/06 - 2009/10) 1557 all-time assists, finished the night with 6 and will likely set the new league mark Sunday night in front of the home crowd when Iowa hosts Idaho.

Magnum Rolle, making his second appearance for the Red Claws after returning from a knee injury, again provided a solid spark off the bench with 11 points and 7 rebounds. DeShawn Sims got off to a slow start but still ended with 14 points and 7 of his own rebounds. Mario West paced the Red Claws , earning adidas Player of the Game honors with 23 points.

Maine returns to action Sunday with a 1 PM matinee against their longtime nemesis the Springfield Armor in "Superhero Day". Iowa will host Idaho on Sunday at 4 PM.
