Mats Lindgren (power play), Matthew Gard and Carson Birnie each scored one for Red Deer. Rhett Stoesser was once again solid in making 23 saves, including some key saves late in the third period. FRI. NOV. 24 - Ollie Josephson scored with 19.4 seconds left to play and Kai Uchacz added an empty netter eight seconds later to lift the Rebels to a hard fought 2-0 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Rhett Stoesser made 25 saves for his second shutout in his last three starts and third clean sheet of the season. Red Deer outshot Brandon 31-25 and was 0-for-4 on the power play while the Wheat Kings were 0-for-1.

UPCOMING GAMES

The Rebels wrap up their six-game homestand with three more tilts at the Peavey Mart Centrium starting Tuesday, November 28 versus the Calgary Hitmen. Red Deer is 2-1-0-0 versus Calgary so far this season. The two clubs will meet a total of nine times this season.

Friday night, December 1, the Moose Jaw Warriors make their first of two visits to the Peavey Mart Centrium this season. Red Deer was 3-1-0-0 versus Moose Jaw in 2022-23.

Saturday, December 2 is one of the most highly anticipated Rebels games of the year as the Everett Silvertips are in town for the annual Toque and Teddy Bear Toss in support of the Red Deer Christmas Bureau. When the Rebels score their first goal, fans are invited to toss their winter items onto the ice! There will be items available for purchase at the game for $5. The Christmas Bureau is looking for new toques, mittens, gloves, scarves, and socks to keep Red Deerians warm this winter!

Puck drop for each game is at 7 p.m. with tickets available through ticketsalberta.com.

After this week the Rebels head east for a four-game swing through the East Division (Brandon, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Prince Albert).

COBRA KAI

Rebels captain Kai Uchacz continues to show no mercy during his career-high 11-game point streak (9 goals, 7 assists). The 20-year-old from Okotoks, AB leads the Rebels in goals (12), points (23), power play goals (6) and game winning goals (2). He recently scored his 80th career goal, 77 of which have come as a member of the Rebels, placing him 13th on the team's all-time goal scoring list.

DOWN TO THE WIRE

It was certainly no surprise to see Saturday's game between the Rebels and Pats go down to the wire as 13 of the last 14 meetings between the two clubs have been decided by 1-or-2 goals. The Rebels are 8-2-1-2 versus the Pats in those games.
