Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Ben Hemmerling has officially signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League.

Hemmerling, an '04-born Sherwood Park, AB native, was originally selected 177th-overall in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL Draft. Currently serving as co-captain of the Silvertips, he has netted seven goals with 18 assists for 25 points in 24 outings thus far this season.

"It's a dream come true," commented Hemmerling. "I've been working my whole life for a moment and an opportunity like this. It's a huge weight off the shoulders to have a done deal. They're a first-class organization, top-notch all around."

Hemmerling registered 21 goals with 41 assists in 55 games played in the 2022-23 campaign. He has collected 141 total points over 158 career games played in four seasons. Awaiting Hemmerling in the Vegas farm system is Alex Swetlikoff, a Silvertip alum and close friend of Hemmerling's from the 2021-22 season currently with the AHL Henderson Silver Knights.

"I'm just soaking it all in," he said of his busy 2023-24 season. "It's probably the best time of your life, so I'm enjoying every moment. I'm looking to improve my game and hopefully making that next step next year."

Hemmerling participated in the 2023 Rookie Faceoff with Vegas in September, and was also on the team's roster for the past two summer development camps.
