Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen looked to even their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series with Red Deer tonight as they hosted the Rebels in Game 4 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
It was a game of special teams tonight that of which fell in favour of Red Deer, with the visitors finding the back of the three times on the power play and twice shorthanded. A scoreless first period would be followed up by a five goal second, which saw the majority of the game's offense. Calgary's lone goal would come from Ethan Moore just over five minutes into the second period on the power play for his first of the playoffs. Four different goal scorers would then capitalize for Red Deer, seeing goals from Ben King, Ollie Josephson, Jhett Larson and Hunter Mayo. Josephson's goal was the only even strength goal scored in the contest.
Calgary was kept off the board through to the final minutes despite power play opportunities reaching double digits. Two more power play goals from Ben King and Kai Uchacz would secure a 6-1 win for Red Deer putting them up 3-1 in the series. Shots finished 41-37 for Red Deer.
Calgary now travels to Red Deer on Friday for game five. Game time is at 7:00 p.m. MT.
