
Blades Beat Pats 4-3 in Overtime for Second Straight Game

Regina, Sask. - The Saskatoon Blades edged out the Regina Pats 4-3 in extra-time to tie the series 2-2, as Jake Chiasson scored the overtime winner on Wednesday inside the Brandt Centre.
The game was tied 1-1 after two periods of play before Regina scored two unanswered goals in the opening minute of the third period, taking a 3-1 lead. For a second straight night, the Blades would score two unanswered goals to tie the game and force overtime, this time coming earlier in the third period.
Charlie Wright tied the game in the final frame before Jayden Wiens got the Blades back in it. Chiasson's first of the series tied the series at two heading back to Saskatoon for game five on Friday. Egor Sidorov opened the scoring for the Blades who scored first for the first time in the series. Ethan Chadwick earned his second straight win, allowing three goals on 26 shots.
Connor Bedard tallied two goals while Tanner Howe got on the board with his first of the playoffs. Drew Sim faced 37 shots, making 33 saves in the loss.

Second Period
SAS 0-1 at 7:18 - Egor Sidorov (3) assisted by Player and Player (PP) // The Blades worked the puck around the Pats zone and Sidorov wired a one-timer past Sim to give the Blades a 1-0 lead midway through the contest.
REG 1-1 at 19:35 - Connor Bedard (7) assisted by Riley Ginnell (PP) // Ginnell picked up the puck along the left-wing boards, sent a pass to Bedard who dangled around a Blades player, and sniped a powerplay goal late in the period to tie the contest up 1-1 heading into the second intermission.
Third Period
REG 2-1 at 13 seconds - Connor Bedard (8) assisted by Zack Stringer and Tanner Howe // Howe was stymied in close, Stringer could not corral the puck but Bedard was there to put away the rebound to give the Pats their first lead of the game at 2-1.
REG 3-1 at 53 seconds - Tanner Howe (1) assisted by Stanislav Svoil and Alexander Suzdalev // Suzdalev sent a one-time feed to Svozil who let a shot fly and Howe got a tip on it past Chadwick for a 3-1 lead just 40 seconds after the Pats made it 2-1.
SAS 3-2 at 2:42 - Jayden Wiens (3) assisted by Aidan De La Gorgendiere and Charlie Wright // De La Gorgendiere's shot was stopped by Sim but Wiens got behind the defence and buried the puck to pull the Blades to within one at 3-2.
SAS 3-3 at 10:01 - Charlie Wright (1) assisted by Trevor Wong and Egor Sidorov // The Pats had trouble getting the puck out of their zone and Wright was able to put away a rebound to tie the game up at 3-3 midway through the third period.
Overtime
SAS 3-4 at 7:20 - Jake Chiasson (1) assisted by Vaughn Watterodt // Chiasson's shot from in the slot beat Sim to give the Blades the 4-3 win.

NOTES
Connor Bedard continued his hot streak in the playoffs as he sniped his seventh and eighth goal of the post-season to give him 13 points (8G-5A) in four playoff games so far.
Tanner Howe scored his first WHL postseason goal and added an assist to give him three points in the playoffs (1G-2A).
Stanislav Svozil had an assist to give him seven points (3G-4A) in the playoffs.
Alexander Suzdalev notched an assist and has seven points (1G-6A) in the playoffs.
Riley Ginnell had an assist to give him five points (1G-4A) so far in the playoffs.
Zack Stringer had an assist to give him three playoff points (2G-1A).
The road team in the series is a perfect 4-0 with the Pats winning both in Saskatoon and the Blades winning both in Regina.
