Reading and Somerset Suspended

Reading Fightin Phils News Release
(Somerset, NJ) - Sunday's matchup between the Reading Fightin Phils and Somerset Patriots has been suspended in the bottom of the ninth, with the game tied at four. It will resume from that point in Reading on Aug. 15, prior to the first game of a series between Reading and Somerset.
The game featured another come-from-behind effort from the Fightin Phils. Somerset tagged Reading starter Josh Hendrickson for three runs in the bottom of the second. The inning featured home runs from Elijah Dunham and Matt Pita.
Somerset tacked on another run in the bottom of the fifth to make it 4-0, but Reading scored four unanswered, one in the sixth and three in the seventh, to tie the game at four. A ground-rule double from Carlos De La Cruz evened the game up in the seventh inning. Offensively, Casey Martin had a three-hit game prior to the contest's suspension.
On the mound, Hendrickson went five innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits, with a walk allowed and two strikeouts. After Hendrickson, Andrew Schultz, Cristian Hernandez and Orion Kerekering each threw a scoreless frame of work in relief. The bullpen was strong again, combining to not allow a run and just one hit, with four strikeouts.
It caps off a phenomenal week for the R-Phils bullpen. The group of relievers combined to allow four-earned runs over 26.2 innings this week, which is good for a 1.35 ERA.
Reading now goes into the All-Star Break with a 5-6 record in the second half, winning four of five this week at Somerset. After the break, the Fightin Phils return home Friday, July 14, to begin a three-game series against the Portland Sea Dogs.
