Akron Stops Senators on Sunday

Harrisburg Senators News Release


The Harrisburg Senators dropped the final game of their six-game series with Akron 5-1 Sunday afternoon in Akron. The RubberDucks scored twice in the first and knocked out the Senators started Dustin Saenz. Harrisburg bounced back with a run in the third but could get no closer. Akron put the game away scoring twice in the fifth and one more in the sixth. Akron took five of six games in the series.

The Big Play

Aaron Bracho singled in two runs with two outs in the first inning to give Akron a 2-0 lead. Gabriel Rodriguez followed with a walk and that knocked out the Senators starter.

On Capitol Hill

Dustin Saenz went two-thirds of the first inning and allowed two runs on two hits and three walks... Lucas Knowles tossed 2.1 scoreless innings... Mitchell Parker and Jack Sinclair combined to go the next four frames and allowed three runs on five hits... Garvin Alston pitched a scoreless eighth inning to finish the outing.

With the Gavel

Harrisburg had seven hits on the afternoon... JT Arruda went 2-for-3 with an RBI... Donovan Casey and Jackson Cluff both had doubles.

On the Docket

The Senators and Richmond Flying Squirrels play game one of their six-game series Friday at 7:00 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Stations 96.5 FM, 95.3 FM, and 1400 AM beginning at 6:45 p.m.
