APPLETON, WI - Wisconsin outfielders Kentrail Davis and Khris Davis drove in the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Monday afternoon as the Timber Rattlers rallied for a 4-3 win over the Great Lakes Loons.

With two outs in the ninth and trailing by two runs, Kentrail Davis doubled to left center to plate Michael Marseco and pinch runner Erik Miller. Khris Davis followed one batter later for the game-winning gapper to right-center to bring home the winning run. The hit was ruled a single since Davis did not advance beyond first base amidst the celebration.

The runs came against Steve Ames (0-1), who blew his first save chance of the season.

The bottom of the ninth began inauspiciously with a leadoff walk to Marseco. Then Austin Stockfisch hit into a controversial play. Rafael Ynoa handled a hard-hit ground ball at second base. From his back side, he flipped to shortstop Christian Lara in time to force Marseco at second base. But base umpire John Bacon ruled that Lara came off the base prematurely in his haste to throw to first and ruled both runners safe. Loons manager Juan Bustabad protested to no avail.

Loons starter Brett Wallach pitched out of multiple jams and did not allow a run in six innings for a no-decision. Wisconsin starter Eric Arnett allowed just one hit in six innings but also didn't factor in the decision.

The Loons managed just three hits in the game but took a 3-1 lead into the ninth. Angelo Songco hit a solo home run in the fourth for the Loons first hit. Ynoa single-handedly scored the Loons second run in the seventh. Leading off the inning, he walked, stole second, advanced to third on Stockfisch's throwing error and scored on a wild pitch by reliever Adrian Rosario (1-0).

Brian Cavazos-Galvez recorded one of the three hits, a weakly hit grounder up the middle to extend his hitting streak to 18 games.

The Loons are 62-31 overall, the best record in full-season professional baseball. The Loons have won 16 of their last 19 and 19 of 24 in the second half. The Loons also are now 36-15 on the road and have won 13 of 16 road series.

The Loons will rest on Tuesday before beginning a six-game homestand at Dow Diamond Wednesday night with the first game of a three-game series against the Clinton LumberKings. Game time Wednesday is 7:05pm. Right-hander Allen Webster (8-6, 2.84 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Loons. Righty Nolan Gallagher (0-3, 3.52) is slated to start for Clinton. The game will feature post-game fireworks, powered by Dow Corning. Tickets are available at Loons.com or by calling 989-837-BALL.

The Great Lakes Loons are a fourth-year Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and members of the Midwest League. For more information about the Loons, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
