
Bandits Edge TinCaps 2-1 in Series Finale

Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Bandits fell behind 1-0 in the first and were unable to take the lead until the seventh inning when Quad Cities scored two runs. Matt Adams led off the seventh with a double, and scored on Alan Ahmady's RBI single. C.J. Beatty later drove Ahmady in on a double to right field, giving the Bandits a 2-1 lead which was the final mark in the Quad Cities win.
Jorge Rondon looked good in his 12th start of the season. He surrendered just one run in the first inning, but followed with four scoreless innings. Rondon fanned six and walked just three without recording a decision. Justin Smith (5-0) picked up his fifth win of the season after pitching three scoreless innings of relief, he fanned three. Aaron Terry (11) was credited with his 11th save of the season by pitching a perfect ninth with two strikeouts. Robert Poutier (3-2) was charged with his second loss of the season when he was hit up for two runs in the seventh inning on three hits.
The Bandits needed eight hits to plate their two runs in the afternoon finale. Adams drove his fourth double of the series and scored a run in the 1-for-4 performance. Ahmady and Beatty each had an RBI on their only hits in the game. Ryan Jackson extended his hit streak to seven games on Monday when he added a three hit game, all singles on a 3-for-4 day.
The River Bandits hit the road after an off day on Tuesday. Quad Cities will make their longest trek of the season when travel 536 miles to Bowling Green, Kentucky to take on the Bowling Green Hot Rods for a three-game set starting Wednesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and the Bandits will send right-hander Shelby Miller (2-4) to face fellow righty Kirby Yates (2-3).
