River City Rascals News Release
O'Fallon, Mo - River City scored seven runs in the final two innings, including five in the ninth when Bobby Burk capped a six-run comeback win with a two-out, two-strike walk-off grand slam to give the Rascals a 9-7 win over the London Rippers (1-3).
River City (3-1) trailed 5-2 in the fifth inning after former Rascal Joash Brodin hit a three-run homer to right field and David Christensen followed with a solo shot off Rascals' starter Don Lisi who lasted five innings, giving up five runs.
Racal reliever Nick Kennedy was touched for a run in the seventh and Keli'i Zablan gave up a run in the eighth to make the score 7-1 heading to the bottom of the eighth.
River City plated two runs in the eighth off Ripper pitcher Matt Schimpf before Adam Arnold entered with a three-run lead in the ninth.
Charlie Lisk started the frame with a one out single and was followed by a walk to Gerardo Avila before Jason Patton singled in a run to cut the Rascals deficit to 7-5. After a strikeout, River City's Josh Workman ripped a single up the middle to load the bases before Bobby Burk's heroics completed the comeback when his homerun landed a few feet over the wall, just out of reach of his former teammate Joash Brodin.
