Raptors 905 Sweep Westchester in Thrilling Match

Raptors 905 (3-1), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, defeated the Westchester Knicks (0-4) 110-109 in a thrilling matchup Friday evening. The 905 were led by Saben Lee who put up a game-high 25 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks. Garrison Brooks led Westchester with a 24-point, 17-rebound and four steal performance.

Westchester came out strong to open the ball game, opening the match on an 11-2 run. The 905 were able to claw back, but the Knicks held the lead, ending the quarter up five. The home side fought back in the second, opening the frame on a 12-1 run, but the Knicks were able to hold onto the lead as the first half came to a close.

Up four to open the half, the Knicks quickly found their rhythm going on a 10-4 run to open the third. Westchester continued to build off their momentum, outscoring the home side 25-18 in the quarter and extending their lead to 11 going into the final frame.

The two teams traded baskets to open the final quarter, before the 905 mounted their comeback bid,taking the two-point lead at the 2:26 mark. The game-winning shot came at the hands of Reggie Perry (17 points, six rebounds, three assists) whose fadeaway jumper with 0.2 seconds remaining led the 905 to the late victory.

The 905 received complementary scoring from Jeff Dowtin Jr. who added 17 points, three rebounds, five assists, two steals and a career-high three blocks. The Knicks were paced by James Akinjo who added 11 points, six rebounds, 15 assists, and two steals in defeat.

The Raptors 905 prepare to travel down south to Greensboro as they take on the Swarm Tuesday, tip-off slated for 11:00 am. The Knicks continue their road trip as they head to College Park to take on the Skyhawks for a matinee Sunday afternoon.
