Walker Leads Six Knicks in Double-Figures in Loss to 905

MISSISSAUGA, ON - MJ Walker of the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, rewrote career-highs while leading six Knicks in double-figures in a 122-115 loss to Raptors 905 Thursday night at Paramount Fine Foods Centre.

Walker (returning rights) went off for 29 points in 28 minutes on 61.1-percent and drained six treys on 50-percent establishing new career superlatives for the reserve. Feron Hunt (Two-Way Player) flirted with a double-double scoring 21 points, his second consecutive 20-point game, and hauling nine boards. Averaging a double-double on the season, Garrison Brooks (affiliate) finished with 14 points and 15 rebounds. James Akinjo (affiliate) gave a 19-point and 14-assist (game-high) effort while Quinton Rose (returning rights) (16 points) and Nuni Omot (affiliate) (10 points) rounded out the Knicks double-figure contributors.

Saben Lee led the Raptors (2-1) with 25 points. Ron Harper Jr. ended with 23 points and Reggie Perry and Jeff Dowtin Jr. both mirrored a 21-point impact. Harper Jr. and Perry led 905 on the glass with 10 rebounds apiece. Dowtin Jr. dished seven dimes.

The Knicks (0-3) trailed the Raptors early succumbing to a 10-point hole in the first quarter. However, in the window, the Knicks shot 61.5-percent and managed to escape the quarter up four 36-32, marking its highest output and best shooting to start a game this season.

In the second quarter, the Knicks' hot shooting continued promoting its lead to 12 at the 6:32 mark, 50-38. Over the next five minutes, the 905 outscored the Knicks, 19-7, eventually plateauing the score, 57-up. The Knicks tacked on five more points to the Raptors' two for a 62-59 intermission.

From that point on, both teams remained in striking distance of the other as neither team held an advantage larger than 10. The contests' final tie came less than a minute into the fourth, 93-up, with the Knicks evening things out. Unlucky shots for the Knicks saw the Raptors capitalizing stretching its lead back to nine, 106-97, with seven minutes to go and by 10, 111-101, with five minutes left. Walker drilled two triples and a free-throw to account for seven of Westchester's nine points over the three-minute span bringing it back within three, 115-112. The 905 made all its final attempts prohibiting a true comeback for Westchester and settling the seven-point final.

The Knicks and Raptors face off again tomorrow, November 11 at 7:30 PM ET.
