Clippers Take Down Lakers Behind Boston's Huge Night

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - The Ontario Clippers (2-1), the NBA G League affiliate of the LA Clippers, defeat the rival South Bay Lakers (2-1), 130-113, on Thursday night behind a huge performance from Brandon Boston Jr.

Boston Jr., on assignment from the LA Clippers, recorded a game-high 37 points on an efficient 14-for-20 from the field.

Two-way player Moussa Diabate added a 20-point, 14-rebound double-double for the Clippers while Nate Darling led all bench scorers with 23 points.

South Bay was led by Scotty Pippen Jr.'s 32 points on 10-of-21 shooting from the field.

The Lakers led by as much as nine in the first quarter and held the advantage throughout most of the first half, but Ontario regained the lead with 6:44 left in the second frame. From there, a quick 19-0 run in the second quarter gave them their largest lead of the night as they cruised the rest of the way to victory.

Ontario shot 51.6 percent from the field on the night (49-for-95) compared to South Bay's 41.8 percent (41-for-98). The Lakers won the three-point battle, shooting 33.3 percent (11-for-33) to the Clippers' 29 percent (9-for-31).

Next up, the Clippers remain in El Segundo to run it back against the same South Bay Lakers on Saturday, November 12. The game tips off at 5 pm PST inside the UCLA Health Training Center.
