
Rampage Sign NHL Veteran Randy Robitaille to PTO

SAN ANTONIO (February 8, 2011) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed center Randy Robitaille to a professional try-out (PTO).
Robitaille, 35, is an 11-year National Hockey League (NHL) veteran and winner of the 1998-99 Les Cunningham Award presented to the AHL's most valuable player (regular season).
The Ottawa, Ontario native has appeared in 128 career AHL games posting 50 goals and 106 assists over portions of three seasons with Providence and Manchester. During the 1998-99 AHL season, Robitaille's 102 points (28 goals, 74 assists) in 74 regular season games earned him the league's MVP award and he was named to the AHL All-Star First Team. He also helped Providence win the 1999 Calder Cup Championship with 20 points (6 goals, 14 assists) in 19 post-season contests.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound center has tallied 84 goals and 172 assists in 531 career NHL games over the course of 11 seasons (1996-2008) with nine teams. He has also recorded five points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 13 NHL post-season games split between Boston (1999), New York Islanders (2003, 2007) and Ottawa (2008).
