
P-Bruins Fall to Checkers 4-1

Charlotte, NC - The Providence Bruins fell to the Charlotte Checkers4-1 Tuesday evening at the Time Warner Cable Arena. The P-Bruins got their goal from Antoine Roussel. Providence returns to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday at 7:05 p.m. for Reds T-Shirt Nightagainst the Hershey Bears.
The Checkers took a 1-0 lead at the 12:34 mark of the opening period. Jerome Samson tallied his 26th goal of the season, while Matthew Pistilli and Brett Bellemore recorded the assists. Charlotte led 1-0 going into the first intermission.
Charlotte went ahead 2-0 at the 3:08 mark of the second period, while on the power play. Chris Terry netted his 20th goal of the season, with Jacob Micflikier and Samson getting the assists. The Checkers led 2-0 going into the second intermission.
The Checkers grabbed a 3-0 lead at the 6:12 mark of the third period, while on the power play. Brett Carson scored his third goal of the season, with Jon Matsumoto and Samson picking up the assists. Charlotte took a 4-0 lead at the 11:50 mark. Matsumoto tallied his 15th goal of the season, while Michal Jordan and Riley Nash had the assists. Providence got on the board at the 18:55 mark. Yury Alexandrov took a shot from the left boards and the puck was tipped into the net by Roussel for his first goal of the season. Charlotte held on to win 4-1.
Matt Dalton stopped 29 of 33 shots for the P-Bruins, while Mike Murphymade 31 saves for the Checkers. The P-Bruins were 0-for-4 on the power play and 3-for-5 on the penalty kill.
The P-Bruins return to The Dunk Friday for Reds T-Shirt Night at 7:05 p.m. against the Bears. The P-Bruins travel to the MassMutual Center Saturday to face the Springfield Falcons at 7:00 p.m., before finishing up the week at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday for Poster Night against the Connecticut Whale at 4:05 p.m. Information on P-Bruins tickets for the 2010-11 season can be obtained by calling the team ticket office at (401) 273-5000 or by logging onto the team website at www.providencebruins.com.
