
Rampage Recall from Loan John McFarland and Brian O'Hanley

SAN ANTONIO (January 16, 2013) - San Antonio Rampage general Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has recalled from loan forward John McFarland and defenseman Brian O'Hanley from the team's ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones.
McFarland, 20, made the Rampage squad following training camp and played in 12 games for the Silver and Black before being reassigned to Cincinnati on Nov. 27. McFarland recorded three assists in his time with the Rampage. For the Cyclones, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound forward has tallied 12 goals and 13 assists in 23 games while accumulating a plus-4 ranking. His 25 points are tied for fourth highest on the team, despite only playing in 23 of the 39 games for the Cyclones. A second round pick (33rd overall) of the Florida Panthers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, McFarland has spent the last four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, recording a total of 190 points on 90 goals and 100 assists in 220 games.
O'Hanley, 28, has played in two games for the Rampage this season (Oct. 27-28), recording a minus-1 rating. The 5-foot-11, 191-pound defenseman has recorded two goals and 18 assists in 37 games for the Cyclones this season. O'Hanley was named the runner-up for the ECHL Player of the Week ending Oct. 21 after tallying two goals and two assists in three games. The Quincy, Mass., native played in 44 AHL games last season between the Syracuse Crunch, Peoria Rivermen and Worchester Sharks, totaling four goals and four assists. O'Hanley recorded 14 goals and 43 assists in 166 games over the course of three seasons with the Cyclones (2008-11). He was drafted in the ninth round (#267 overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks.
The Rampage kick off a two-game road series on Friday against the Oklahoma City Barons at 7 p.m. The Silver and Black will return to AT&T Center on Friday, Jan. 25 for a 7:30 tilt against the Texas Stars on a KZEP Dollar Drink Night.
