Sharks Acquire Forward Tommy Grant and a Conditional Seventh Round Selection

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has acquired forward Tommy Grant and a conditional seventh round selection in the 2014 NHL Draft in exchange for forward Brandon Mashinter. Grant has been assigned to Worcester, San Jose's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

Grant, 26, has posted 16 points (9-716) in 34 games with Connecticut (AHL) this season. Last season with Connecticut, the six-foot-two, 195-pound North Vancouver, British Columbia native notched 23 points (11-1223) with 39 penalty minutes in 72 games.

Mashinter, 24, played in 30 games this season with Worcester, posting five points (2-35) and 44 penalty minutes. He appeared in 236 games with Worcester in the last four seasons recording 108 points (54-54108) and 324 penalty minutes. In 2010-11, Mashinter played 13 games with San Jose, registering 17 penalty minutes.
