San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (December 30, 2013) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has recalled rookie forward Logan Shaw from the team's ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones. In addition, the club has loaned defenseman Zach Miskovic to Cincinnati.
Shaw, 21, sits at third among Cyclones skaters with eight goals and 18 points through 20 games with the team this season. The 6-3, 204-pound winger played in seven games with the Rampage to begin the season before being reassigned to Cincinnati on Nov. 12. The Glace Bay, NS, native spent five years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (2008-13), totaling 187 points (86 goals, 101 assists) in 311 career games between Cape Breton and Quebec. Shaw made his professional debut on Oct. 4 with the Rampage, in their home opener against Chicago.
Shaw was a third round selection by the Florida Panthers (76th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Miskovic, 28, is in his fifth professional season, and first full season with the Rampage. In 27 games with the Silver and Black last year, the 6-1, 197-pound defenseman netted four goals and nine assists through 27 games after being traded from Chicago on Feb. 14. The River Forest, Ill., native has 201 AHL games under his belt, with the bulk of it being spent with Hershey after turning pro in the 2009-10 season. He has 19 goals and 24 assists in that span.
Prior to his professional career, Miskovic played four full seasons for St. Lawrence University. In 154 games with the Saints, he totaled 27 goals and 46 assists. He began his hockey career in the United States Hockey League with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.
The Rampage will open a weekend home-and-home with the Oklahoma City Barons on Jan. 3 at the AT&T Center before traveling to Oklahoma City the next night. The first game carries a 7:30 p.m. puck drop, and falls on a KZEP / Bud Light Dollar Drink Night and will feature $1 draft beers and soda during the game. It also is the Rampage's "Social Media Night," where fans can tweet throughout the game to choose which player they want to be interviewed during the intermission. Tickets can be purchased by calling a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554 or online at sarampage.com.
