Hartford Wolf Pack News Release
The Wolf Pack (11-16-0-4, 26 pts.) wrapped up their calendar-year 2013 action with wins in two out of their three games last week. The Pack snapped an 0-7-0-2 drought on Thursday with a 3-1 win in Bridgeport, and then posted their first overtime victory of the year Saturday night at home, edging Worcester 3-2. A streak of three straight games with a standings point (2-0-0-1) came to an end Sunday in Manchester, as the AHL-leading Monarchs knocked off the Wolf Pack, 5-2. Oscar Lindberg scored his first career North American pro overtime goal to win Saturday's game, after notching a goal and an assist Thursday.

This week:
The Wolf Pack begin 2014 with a pair of home games this weekend. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins make their lone regular-season visit to Hartford on Friday night, and then the Worcester Sharks visit the XL Center for a second straight Saturday evening. Both games face off at 7:00 PM.
Friday, January 3 vs. the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the XL Center, 7:00 PM
- At this and all Friday-night Wolf Pack home games this year, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers at the XL Center through the start of the second period, presented by Marc's Appliance Warehouse, located at 75 Prospect Ave., Hartford, CT.
- "Hawk's Nest" returns to the XL Center's Comcast Coliseum Club for this game, with Bob "Hawk" Crawford, the play-by-play voice of the Wolf Pack, conducting a Wolf Pack-themed interview from 6:00-6:20 PM. Questions and comments will be welcomed from the patrons enjoying the Comcast Coliseum Club's wide array of dining and beverage options. The Comcast Coliseum Club restaurant and bar area is open two hours prior to every Wolf Pack home game, to everyone holding a ticket to the game.
- This is the only XL Center visit of the season for the Penguins. The Wolf Pack were 1-0-1-0 against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last year, and won their only home game of the series in a 2-0 shutout January 6.
- The Penguins (17-9-1-3, 38 pts.) are only one point off the lead in the East Division, and are 8-3-1-2 in 14 road games on the season.
- Former Quinnipiac University Bobcat star goaltender Eric Hartzell has started four of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's last six games, and since being reassigned to the Penguins from Wheeling of the ECHL, Hartzell is 4-2-1 in seven appearances, with a 1.99 goals-against average and a 92.3% save percentage, and two of his wins have been by shutout.
- For this and all Wolf Pack home games, tickets start as low as $12 for youth 12 years old or younger and are available at the Public Power Ticket Office at the XL Center, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499.

With their 3-2 overtime victory over Worcester Saturday, the Pack have now won the last seven consecutive meetings between the two teams, and have taken the last eight straight encounters at the XL Center.
- With Saturday's point for the overtime loss, and their 5-2 home win over St. John's Friday, Head Coach Roy Sommer's Sharks (13-12-2-1, 29 pts.) have moved into a fourth-place tie with Portland in the Atlantic Division.
- After giving up the first two goals of the game to the Wolf Pack on Saturday, Worcester got tallies from Dan DaSilva and Freddie Hamilton to tie the game and force overtime.
