Coyotes Recall Chris Brown from Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward Chris Brown from the Portland Pirates, the club's America Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Brown has appeared in five games with the Coyotes this season, recording 17 penalty minutes (PIM). He has also recorded 5-13-18 with a plus-10 rating and 38 PIM in 24 games with the Pirates. Brown ranked first on the team in plus-minus, second in scoring and tied for second in assists at the time of his recall.

The 22-year-old native of Flower Mound, Texas has appeared in 10 career NHL games, collecting 19 PIM. He became just the sixth native Texan to play in the NHL when he made his debut with Phoenix on Mar. 4, 2013 vs. Anaheim.

Brown was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the second round (36th overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft.
