Jets Re-Assign Julian Melchiori to IceCaps

The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have re-assigned defenceman Julian Melchiori to the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

Melchiori, 22, appeared in his first NHL game Dec. 27/13 versus the Minnesota Wild at MTS Centre. He will return to the IceCaps where he has played in 18 games so far this season for five assists and 14 penalty minutes. The Richmond Hill, ON native has played in 71 career AHL games, all with St. John's, for 13 career points (1G, 12A) and 53 career penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the third round, 87th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft.
