San Antonio Rampage News Release
Players and Students from Silver & Black Give Back's Team Up Challenge Will Skate at the AT&T Center
WHAT: Rampage forwards A.J. Greer and Trent Vogelhuber will join members from Any Baby Can to learn about the benefits of being active, learn to skate, and empower the kids to take charge of their own health and wellness. The activity is a reward for the students, who have focused on health and wellness in their Silver & Black Give Back (SBGB) Team Up Challenge project.
The Silver & Black Give Back Team Up Challenge recognizes and rewards students who improve the San Antonio community through activities that are tied to classroom curriculum. These innovative projects are developed by students to address needs in their own neighborhoods or communities.
Any Baby Can will partner with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio to provide sports camps for kids with and without developmental disabilities. Kids from the YMCA will act as mentors/coaches for the kids with special needs during the inclusive soccer and baseball camps. Any Baby Can hopes to use these camps as an opportunity to reduce stigmas and build bridges between students of all abilities and ages.
WHO: Forward A.J. Greer
Forward Trent Vogelhuber
WHEN: Monday, Dec. 5
2-3 p.m.
WHERE: AT&T Center
One AT&T Center Parkway
San Antonio, TX 78219
ABOUT TEAM UP CHALLENGE
The Team Up Challenge is a community involvement program that teaches kids civic responsibility through hands-on learning and service within their communities. Through these hands-on programs, youth are empowered to change the world, starting right here in San Antonio. Kids identify a need and create a project to impact one of five areas: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Health & Wellness, or Uniformed Services. As a premier initiative of Silver & Black Give Back, Spurs, Stars, Rampage and San Antonio FC players have worked alongside the students to help bring their vision to life.
