Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), host the Charlotte Checkers tonight at 6:00 PT on Teddy Bear Toss presented by Smart Solar Power at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tonight is the first of four regular-season meetings between the two teams.
Teddy Bear Toss presented by Smart Solar Power: Bring new on gently used stuff animals to tonight's contest for Teddy Bear Toss presented by Smart Solar Power! Toss it on the ice after the Reign score their first goal.
Mighty Mersch: Forward Michael Mersch has a point in all seven Reign wins so far this season (7-2-1-0). Forward Jonny Brodzinski is a close second with a record of 6-2-1-0 when grabbing a point.
Home for the Holidays: The Reign wrap up a season-long five-game homestand tonight (2-2-0-0).
Ontario Outlaws: The Reign lead the AHL in average penalty minutes per game at 20.94 and are tied for first with 123 minor penalties. The Reign are second in the AHL with 17 major penalties.
Nothing Minor about Majors: Defenseman Kurtis MacDermid leads the AHL with 16 minor penalties and enters tonight's game on an eight-game penalty minute streak (26 PIMS). Forward Michael Latta leads the AHL with five major penalties.
