San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO - Bracken Kearns scored the San Antonio Rampage's lone goal in their 3-1 defeat to the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday night at the AT&T Center.
The Admirals scored the game's first goal 3:40 into the opening period when Ryan Flynn crept out from behind the net and fired a shot through the pads of Rampage backstop Jacob Markstrom. His seventh goal of the season put Milwaukee ahead 1-0.
Milwaukee's Kyle Wilson redirected a Scott Ford shot past Markstrom to make the count 2-0 in favor of the Admirals at 11:25 of the first. The marker was Wilson's 22nd of the year.
The Rampage closed to within one, at 2-1, with Kearns' goal 18:36 into the second stanza. He picked up the puck in a goalmouth scramble and shot into an open net to register his 20th tally of the campaign.
An empty-net goal from Flynn, his second of the game, capped the scoring at 3-1 with 27 seconds remaining in the third period.
Admirals goaltender Jeremy Smith stopped 33 of the 34 shots he faced to pick up his 29th win of the season. Markstrom made 26 saves on 28 Milwaukee shots in the San Antonio loss.
The Rampage (38-29-3-2) are back in action on Tuesday when they battle the Admirals once again at 7 p.m. (CST) at the AT&T Center.
