Aeros Victorious In 4-2 Win

HOUSTON --- Carson McMillan and Jon DiSalvatore each had a goal and an assist to lead the Houston Aeros in a 4-2 win over the Peoria Rivermen Saturday night at Toyota Center.

Chad Rau and Cody Almond each scored, and Matt Hackett made 25 saves for the Aeros, which improves to 33-24-5-10. The Aeros jump into the eight spot in the Western Conference playoff race.

McMillan extended the Aeros lead to 4-2 with his fourth goal of the season at 5:48 in the third.

After Anthony Nigro tied the score at 2-2 at 12:58 in the second period, Cody Almond put the Aeros on top 3-2 with a shorthanded goal less than a minute later.

Rau scored 28 seconds into the first period to give the Aeros a 1-0 advantage.

DiSalvatore put the Aeros back on top 2-1 with his team-leading 27th goal of the year at 7:45 in the second. Peoria had tied the game at 1-1 at 1:27 into the second on a goal by Phil McRae.

The Aeros finish a five-game homestand Sunday against the Milwaukee Admirals at 5:05 p.m. at Toyota Center.
