San Antonio Rampage News Release

Bakersfield - The San Antonio Rampage (15-13-7-0) opened their four-game California road trip with a 3-1 win over the Bakersfield Condors (13-13-2-2) in front of 4,283 at Rabobank Arena. The Rampage never trailed in the contest as they moved to 11-4-4-0 on the road this season. Chris Bigras, Borna Rendulic, and Joey Hishon tallied goals for the Silver and Black, and Bigras and Rendulic earned the First and Second Star of the Game, respectively.

The Rampage began the scoring, as Bigras potted his fifth of the season at the 4:17 mark of the first stanza. Bakersfield answered less than five minutes later when Marc-Olivier Roy snuck the puck past Roman Will to even the game at one. The sirens sounded one more time for the Rampage in the first, as Rendulic retrieved the puck in front of the net and fired an uncontested shot past Laurent Brossoit in the 13th minute.

The Silver and Black came out of the first intermission leading 2-1 and added to their lead in the fifth minute of the stanza, starting with a big save by Roman Will that allowed the Rampage to push the puck up the ice. The play culminated with Joey Hishon's short-side shot, his 10th goal of the year.

Both teams were scoreless in the third period, as the Rampage held on to their 3-1 lead during the final 20 minutes of play. San Antonio went 0-for-3 on power play opportunities, while Bakersfield connected on one of their two chances with the man advantage. Will finished the game with 16 saves on 17 shots, recording his fourth win of the season.
