Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), host the Stockton Heat tonight at 7:00 p.m. PT at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tonight is the fifth of 12 meetings between the two teams this season.

Stothers Chasing 100:

Ontario Reign Head Coach and 2016 AHL All-Star Mike Stothers is one win away from 100 as a professional head coach. Stothers stood behind the bench of the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL, 2007-08), Manchester Monarchs (AHL, 20014-15) and now Reign. He spent most of his recent coaching career in junior hockey in Ontario Hockey League and Western Hockey League, amassing 251 wins in 556 career games.

The Stars Shine Bright in Ontario:

Yesterday, the AHL announced that Reign team captain Vincent LoVerde, goaltender Peter Budaj and forward Michael Mersch were selected as Pacific Division AHL All-Stars for the 2016 AHL All-Star Classic.

Reign Add Forbort Heading into the Weekend:

Defenseman Derek Forbort was returned on loan to the Reign by the Kings earlier this week after the Kings made a trade with the Philadelphia Flyers for forward Vincent Lecavalier and defenseman Luke Schenn. Forbort appeared in two games with the Reign earlier this season.

Kempe Returns from World Juniors:

Forward Adrian Kempe returned to the Reign yesterday from team Sweden from the World Junior Championships. Kempe recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) in seven games with Sweden, who fell to the United States in the Bronze Medal Game.

Auger for 100:

Entering tonight's contest, Reign forward Justin Auger looks to appear in his 100th professional contest.

Looking for Payback:

The Reign hold a 3-1-0-0 head-to-head record against the Heat so far this season, but fell in the last meeting, 4-1, on home ice on New Year's Eve. Reign forwards Jordan Samuels-Thomas (three goals) and Jonny Brodzinski (two goals, one assist) lead the series with three points each.
