Ramo and Leach Recalled by Tampa; Munce and Rogers Re-Join Admirals from Mississippi

NORFOLK, VA - Today, Tampa Bay Lightning Executive Vice President and General Manager Jay Feaster announced that the Lightning have recalled goaltender Karri Ramo and defenseman Jay Leach from the AHL's Norfolk Admirals. In addition, goaltender Ryan Munce and defenseman Andy Rogers have been reassigned to the Admirals from the ECHL's Mississippi Sea Wolves. Munce and Rogers will join the Admirals in time for the team's game tonight in Bridgeport.

Ramo, a 6-foot-2, 192-pound native of Asikkala, Finland, had appeared in six games with Norfolk going 2-4-0 with a 3.33 goals-against average and .898 save percentage. In his last four games since recovering completely from an early-season ankle sprain, Ramo was 2-2-0 with a 2.14 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage.

This will be Ramo's third career call-up to the NHL. The sophomore pro appeared in two games with Tampa Bay last season, posting a 3.43 goals-against average and .826 save percentage without registering a decision. The 21-year-old was a sixth-round draft pick (191 st overall) of the Lightning in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. In 51 career AHL games, Ramo has posted a 17-28-1 record with a 3.16 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.

Leach, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound native of Syracuse, New York, had appeared in all 28 games for Norfolk this season with three goals, three assists, 29 penalty minutes and a team-leading +4 rating.

This will be Leach's second career call-up to the NHL. The seventh-year pro skated in two games for the Boston Bruins during the 2005-06 season, going scoreless with seven penalty minutes. In 269 career AHL games, Leach has 14 goals and 25 assists with 386 penalty minutes. Leach signed a one-year deal with Tampa Bay on July 3, 2007.

Munce, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario, appeared in his first eight career AHL games with the Admirals earlier this season, going 2-6-0 with a 2.99 GAA and .901 save percentage. He registered his first career AHL victory on October 13 at Albany.

Munce was assigned to Mississippi on November 19 and appeared in six games with the Sea Wolves posting a 4-2-0 record with a 2.63 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage. The 22-year-old netminder was acquired by the Lightning from the Los Angeles Kings on January 20, 2007, in exchange for a 2008 fourth-round draft pick.

Rogers , a 6-foot-5, 217-pound defenseman from Calgary, Alberta, had appeared in 11 games for the Admirals earlier this season, going scoreless with 19 penalty minutes and a +1 rating. He was assigned to Mississippi on December 5 and appeared in four games for the Sea Wolves, scoring one goal and adding ten penalty minutes.

The 21-year-old was a first-round draft pick (30th overall) of the Lightning in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He made his professional debut last season with the AHL's Springfield Falcons, posting seven assists and 39 penalty minutes in 48 games. In 59 career American Hockey League games, Rogers has seven assists and 58 penalty minutes.
