
Amerks Lose Seventh Straight In Albany

Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, December 19)... The Rochester Americans gave up three unanswered goals en route to a 3-2 loss to the Albany River Rats at the Times Union Center tonight. Clarke MacArthur led the Amerks with one goal and one assist as the team lost its seventh straight contest to fall to 10-17-1-2 on the season. Rob Globke scored his fifth of the season, while David Shantz made 26 saves in net.
Dave Gove, Brandon Nolan and Bobby Hughes combined to produce the Rats' three tallies, while Justin Peters made 22 saves in net for Albany.
Globke put Rochester on the board first at 4:44 of the opening period. The Amerks' third-year right winger was assisted by MacArthur and Marek Zagrapan on the play.
Rochester took a 2-0 lead with MacArthur's goal at 3:51 of the second with assists from rookie defenseman Mike Weber and Andrej Sekera.
The River Rats took over from there, scoring three second-period goals to improve to 17-12-0-2.
Hughes had the first of Albany's goals at 6:53, with Nolan and Gove's to follow at 9:42 and 18:28, respectively.
The Amerks will return to action on Friday, December 21st as they welcome back the Toronto Marlies to The Blue Cross Arena for the second time this season. The 7:35 p.m. North Division contest can be heard live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com, and B2 networks. The game will be the third of eight scheduled meetings between the two teams.
The game ushers in the Pirate Toy Fund, courtesy of Gary the Happy Pirate. Fans can bring a new, unwrapped toy to The Blue Cross Arena Box Office and receive $3.00 off any premium seat. Fans can also enjoy pregame music by Gary the Happy Pirate from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. as part of the Amerks' Friday Night Frenzies. Further, fans who present their AAA member card at The Blue Cross Arena Box Office will receive 100 End Seating for $10.00 each (Regular $16.00) or 200 End Seating for $10.00 each (Regular $12.00). Finally, buy one, get one free ticket vouchers are available for this game at participating Wendy's Restaurants.
Rochester will conclude the weekend with a non-divisional matchup on Saturday, December 22nd against the Binghamton Senators at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. The 7:05 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks. The contest will be the fourth of eight in the season series. In their previous encounter, the Amerks dropped a 4-3 decision to the Sens on December 9th.
