Zaba sent back to Charlotte

HARTFORD, December 19, 2007: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the parent New York Rangers have reassigned goaltender Matt Zaba from the Wolf Pack to the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL.

Zaba, a rookie out of Colorado College, has yet to play in a game with the Wolf Pack, but has served as the Pack's backup for eight contests. He has played in five ECHL games with the Checkers, compiling a 3-2-0 record with a 3.94 goals-against average and an 88.1% save percentage.

The Wolf Pack wrap up a four-game homestand with games at the XL Center this Friday night, December 21st, a GEICO Connecticut Cup battle against Bridgeport, and Saturday, December 22nd vs. Syracuse. Both contests face off at 7:00.
