El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The El Paso Chihuahuas loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday but did not score and lost to the Salt Lake Bees 6-4. The Bees won three of the five games in the series and all five games had close scores in the late innings.

Luis Urias reached base five times in his return to the lineup after a three-day hiatus, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and two walks. Raffy Lopez hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning, his third consecutive game with a homer, which is one shy of tying the team record.

Luis Perdomo lasted seven innings for the second time in two starts with El Paso but received the loss after allowing four home runs and five runs total. Former Chihuahua Ryan Schimpf hit two solo homers off Perdomo and had RBI hits in the final three games of the series.

The teams combined for six home runs Sunday, the second six-homer game of the series. El Paso pitching struck out 13 Bees Sunday, their third consecutive game with 10 or more Ks.
