TACOMA, WA - Mike Marjama's 3-run homer lifted Tacoma to a series victory over Omaha, as the Rainiers defeated the Storm Chasers 5-2 on Friday night at Cheney Stadium.
Tacoma took advantage of early wildness from Chasers starter Josh Staumont to score twice in the bottom of the 1st. Ian Miller singled, and Gordan Beckham, Daniel Vogelbach, and Chris Herrmann drew consecutive walks, forcing in a run. Mike Marjama then singled home Beckham, making it 2-0.

The Chasers grabbed a run back in the top of the 3rd; Humberto Arteaga reached on an error, Terrance Gore singled, and both runners advanced on a groundout. With 2 down, Jorge Bonifacio reached on an infield single, plating Arteaga.
Omaha tied the game in the top of the 4th. Frank Schwindel singled, and with 1 out, Corey Toups doubled him to 3rd. Humberto Arteaga followed with a sacrifice fly, making it 2-2.
Tacoma took control of the game in the bottom of the 5th against Luis Vasquez (L, 1-1). Daniel Vogelbach started the rally with a 1-out double. Chris Herrmann walked to put 2 runners on, and Mike Marjama crashed a 3-run homer to left field, putting Tacoma ahead 5-2.
Casey Lawrence (W, 5-2) continued his strong campaign, pitching 7.1 innings and allowing only 2 runs and 7 hits. He struck out 6 and walked 1.
Sam Selman tossed 2 scoreless innings in his 2018 debut for Omaha, and Michael Mariot threw a scoreless 8th inning. But the Chasers couldn't rally, and Tyler Higgins (S, 2) worked the 9th for Tacoma, nailing down the series win for the Rainiers.
