The 'Cats lead stretched to three run as Guerrero singled to right center following a Massaro double.

Wichita battled back in the top of the ninth to tie the game and force extra innings. RailCats closer David Nathanson allowed his first runs of the year after allowing three hits in the inning. Wichita pinch runner Thomas Fitzgerald scored the tying run on an RBI triple by leftfielder Mike Conroy as a strong, accurate relay throw from Boyer was just a fraction of a second late to the plate.

Lefty Zeb Engle and sidewinding Will Krout combined to pitch a scoreless eighth, while Brian Grening scattered four hits and struck out two in his two innings of scoreless relief.
