Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release

Green Bay, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (2-3) found an offensive rhythm early against the Green Bay Booyah (3-2) and didn't slow down on their way to a 12-6 road win on Saturday night.

The Rafters put up three runs in the first inning and Green Bay answered with two of their own in the bottom of the opening frame. The Rafters would never relinquish that lead, adding another run in the second inning.

Later in the third, Rapids tacked on another three runs and Green Bay once again answered with a pair to pull within 7-4. The Rafters added another insurance run in the fourth inning, but the Booyah pulled within two with a couple of runs in the fifth inning.

Heading to the ninth, the Rafters led 8-4 and put an exclamation point on the win with a four-run ninth inning. Josh NIcoloff led the way on offense with three RBIs for Rapids.

Rapids and Green Bay will go head-to-head again Sunday at 5:05 p.m. after the Rafters played spoiler to the Booyah's home opener Capital Credit Union Park on Saturday.
